Over two months after the arrest of journalist Jigna Vora for the murder of senior crime journalist J Dey,the Mumbai Police Crime Branch is likely to file a supplementary chargesheet in the case next week, that will detail Voras alleged role in the crime.
Vora, who was working as a deputy bureau chief with The Asian Age in Mumbai,is the eleventh accused arrested in the case. She is also the only one yet to be chargesheeted.
On December 3 last year, the Mumbai Police Crime Branch filed an elaborate 3,055- page chargesheet in the case. However, the chargesheet did not name Vora in it as she was arrested just a week before.
According to sources, the supplementary chargesheet will have exhaustive details of the role played by Vora in allegedly aiding in the crime.
Booked under the same charges as her co-accused,for murder and conspiracy, the chargesheet mentions her blow-by-blow involvement at the conspiracy stage. The chargesheet has already been made ready and has been sent for a final approval to the Commissioner (of Mumbai Police), confirmed a senior Crime branch officer.
Dey,working with city-based tabloid Mid Day,was shot dead in suburban Powai on June 11 last year by assailants who followed him on motorcycles at the behest of fugitive gangster Chhota Rajan.
