Ex- BJP MLAs son shot in Nagpur

Son of a former BJP MLA from Sakoli in Bhandara was shot dead by his sister’s husband here today. The incident occurred near a marriage venue in Kalamna locality of the city. Prashant Nakade,son of ex-MLA Indumati Nakade and general secretary of Gadchiroli unit of the BJP,was shot at twice from point blank range by his brother-in-law Rajendra Kapgate after the former had just got into his vehicle along with family after attending marriage.

Nakade was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Nakade’s sister Neeta was married to Kapgate in 1984 but had of late been staying with her parents following a long-standing unmitigated marital discord,it is gathered.

Lata conferred Swarbhaskar

Lata Mangeshkar on Saturday was honoured with the first ever Swarbhaskar Award for her distinguished contribution to the field of creative art in a function at the Bharat Ratna Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Kaladalan,Sahakarnagar. The award has been instituted in memory of the late Pandit Bhimsen Joshi. The award was presented to her by eminent Kathak dancer Sitara Devi.
