Bakery blast: Defence objects to 3 lab reports

PUNE: The defence has objected to admission of three lab reports on detection of explosives as evidence in the German Bakery blast case. Defence lawyer A Rehman said he had objected to these reports in the court and would rather cross-examine the forensic experts. “The Fire Brigade had washed the site soon after the blast. The police reached the site after almost an hour, after visiting victims at Inlaks and Budhrani Hospital. The reports are about soot accumulated on the wall and some other material recovered from Baig’s house. How did the prosecution manage to get these samples if the Fire Brigade had washed the site?” He,however, did not object to admission of 40 other reports as evidence, claiming that they were in favour of accused Mirza Himayat Inayat Baig.
