Bookie claims loss of Rs 1,000 crore in chats with Amruta Fadnavis
Incidentally, in the FIR filed by Amruta Fadnavis on February 20, she stated that Jaisinghani’s daughter had offered Rs 1 crore to get her father off the hook in police cases using her political connection.

Anil Jaisinghani who was arrested in connection with the alleged blackmail and extortion of Amruta Fadnavis, wife of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has claimed to have suffered a loss of Rs 1,000 crore in the past years.
Alleged bookie Jaisinghani made the claim in a chat with Amruta Fadnavis, saying the loss was because he was on the run for eight years in 17 cases registered against him.
Incidentally, in the FIR filed by Amruta Fadnavis on February 20, she stated that Jaisinghani’s daughter had offered Rs 1 crore to get her father off the hook in police cases using her political connection.
The chats are part of the 733-page chargesheet submitted by the Mumbai police against Jaisinghani, his daughter Aniksha and cousin brother Nirmal for allegedly blackmailing and trying to extort Rs 10 crore from Amruta after she declined to accept her offer of Rs 1 crore to help her father.
Amruta had claimed in her FIR that after she refused their offer, the father-daughter duo started sending her videos and voice chats. They went on to blackmail her and demand Rs 10 crore for not making the videos public though police claimed that the video was fabricated.
“Dear Didiji, if you talk to me it will help both of us, you give Rs 10 crore one time and help my father in police case, I promise you I will give you all original video and audio recording… I will not keep anything with me and my father will also delete all the recording and nobody will come to know and all will happy,” read a message sent by Aniksha at 11.17pm on February 21.
The FIR was registered against Aniksha and her father on February 20. After a report on the FIR was published in The Indian Express on March 16, Fadnavis, in response to a question raised by the opposition in the state Assembly, said that Amruta continued to engage in a conversation with the accused on police advice after the FIR in order to catch them.
“My father knows that you and hon’ble Devendra sir will use police against him and police will say that video is fake but it will not help… my father is in regular contact with Sharad Pawarji and Uddav Thackerji and he will give all video and audio recording to them and to Modiji,” read another message sent to Amruta on the same day (February 21).
In another message, Amruta was threatened that it will become a big political issue that could lead Fadnavis to lose his deputy chief minister post and finish his political career.
In the chats, Jaisinghani also allegedly blackmailed her stating that Amruta took dollars from Aniksha in a T-series office. In a statement of a witness, it is claimed that Amruta visited the T-series office for the press conference related a song, where Aniksha and her friend met her for 4 to 5 minutes.
In her statement, the friend claimed that she recorded videos multiple times at Sagar Bungalow, the official residence of Fadnavis, on Aniksha’s instruction. He even offered to undergo a narco test and challenged her whether she would do it, too.
After she was challenged and threatened with videos and audio messages, Amruta responded, “What is this cash issue? Why r u doing this thing to a straight person?”
The court last week took cognisance of the chargesheet and summoned the accused. While Aniksha and Nirmal were granted bail in March, Jaisinghani’s bail plea was rejected and is still in jail.
