207 polling booths sensitive,CCTVs at 4

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation released a list of total 207 polling booths that have been declared sensitive.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) released a list of total 207 polling booths that have been declared sensitive. However,CCTV camera’s have been installed at only four polling booths which have been identified as extremely sensitive.

The data was released on Tuesday at a press conference held at the civic headquarters. According to the data,out of the total 8,326 polling booths in the city,around 207 are declared sensitive. Out of the four extremely sensitive ones,two booths were identified in ward number 90 and 91 in Bandra (east) and two at Samuel street and Mohammed Umar Kokil Marg in ward number 222.

“These sensitive booths were identified and listed by the Mumbai Police. We have installed CCTV cameras at the extremely sensitive polling booths. Though MMR does not fall under the category stipulated by the Central government,we have stringent security measures in place to ensure smooth election process,” said Municipal Commissioner Subodh Kumar.

The BMC chief also highlighted the security arrangements made at the polling booths and details of total number of registered voters,candidates,number of staff deployed on election duty etc.
