15 days into Census,over 1,000 enumerators yet to get house lists

The first phase of house listing and gathering of data for the national population register started on May 1 and has to be completed by June 15. However,those who are yet to receive the list of houses will not be given any additional time. “National guidelines make it compulsory for us to wind up the first phase by June 15,” additional municipal commissioner Manisha Mhaiskar said.

At the same time,Mhaiskar said on an average,around three enumerators per ward had already completed surveying 70 per cent of the houses.

The BMC has announced early bird prizes for the first 100 enumerators who complete the house-listing process. “A memento and a certificate will be awarded to these enumerators.”
