UBS yet to make interview calls,students explore options

The entrance to UBS is based on the results of the Combined Entrance Tests (CET). Once the result is out,like other management institutes,the UBS makes interview calls to students.

However,this year,the department is yet to get down to work as it was awaiting official confirmation from the university authorities.

It is to be noted that due to similar reasons,last year too the the department had made calls in March.

UBS Chairperson Prof Dinesh Gupta,said,“We are waiting for communication regarding the OBC quota and as soon as we get the confirmation,we will start with the process. It’s not that late and we will soon make the interview calls.”

Meanwhile,due to the delay by UBS,many students are looking for different options. An MBA aspirant,Nidhi,said,“Institutes should not delay the admission procedure. Not many students wait for a particular institute to announce admission. With delay in UBS interview calls,I have started looking for other options before the admissions there too get over.”

Earlier in the year,Panjab University had implemented the OBC quota system for this academic session but later the HRD Ministry had asked the varsity to withdraw the same since it is not a central university.

As per the HRD ministry directives,from the coming academic session,PU will not implement the OBC quota system and no seats will be reserved under the category.
