Strike held at Kamla Lohtia College

The local unit of PCCTU at Kamla Lohtia S D College,Ludhiana,observed a day-long strike to protest against the managing committee. Because of the strike,the classes of students remained suspended.

The issues of protest were suspension of Sunil Aggarwal,Assistant Professor of Political Science and refusal of admission to students of BA-I with political science as elective subject,which is against Panjab University (PU) norms since the same was published in college prospectus as an elective subject,refusal of admission to students of BA-I with compartment in 10+2 but otherwise eligible as per PU norms,withholding of annual increments of the teaching staff,and refusal of senior scale to eligible teachers.

Rohit Kumar,president of the association,said that the teachers were angry because they were not given any hearing by the president of the Managing Committee.
