Panjab University women’s cycling team claims 1500 team title on the first day of the All India Inter-University Tournament
Panjab University clinched the women’s 1500 Team Time Trial title in the All India University Cycling Championships for Men and Women being organized by Panjab University,Chandigarh at Punjab Agricultural University,Ludhiana Cycling Velodrome on Wednesday.
The PU women team consisting of Anupreet Kaur,Sukhpal Kaur,Suman and Neesha Rani clocked 2:07.097 seconds to claim the top spot. Parvathy,Mahitha Mohan,Mable Antony and V Deepa Chandran of Kerqala University gave them a tough fight but had to settle for the second position with timing of 2:13.074 seconds. Meanwhile,Punjabi University,Patiala team consisting of Rajwinder Kaur,Sandeep Kaur,Gurpreet Kaur and Amandeep Kaur secured the third spot with 2:13.259 seconds.
Meanwhile,Gurnaj Singh of PU,Chandigarh,won the men’s 100 metre Time Trial title with a personal timing of 1:11.863 seconds. Jagdeep Singh,also of PU,clocked 1:12.583 seconds to grab the second position while Kiran Inder Singh of Punjabi University came third with 1:13.796 seconds.
The men’s 1500 metre Team Time Trail event was won by Punjabi University consisting of Sarpreet Singh,Gursharandeep Singh,Kamninder Singh and Kiran Inder Singh. They clocked 1:47.700 seconds. Panjab University claimed the second spot with 1:48.737 seconds. The women 500 metre TimeTrial was won by Mahitha Mohan of Kerala University by clocking 41.319 seconds. Rajvinder Kaur of Punjabi University gave tough fight to her with a timing of 41.765 seconds. Anureet Kaur of PU clocked 42.628 seconds to claim the third spot.
