An unidentified man was found murdered in the old city area this morning. The partially burnt body was dumped in a vacant plot opposite Deepak Cinema.
The body,which appears to be of a youth in his mid 20s,had stab wounds on the neck. The body had been beheaded with a few tissues still intact with the body. The plot from where the body was found is situated on the Dhobi Street where people throw garbage.
The police suspect that the accused might have been murdered around the midnight as the body had fresh blood stains. Sources said there were signs of scuffle between the victim and the assailants.
SHO Nirmal Singh said the owner of the plot Prem Singh was the first one to spot the body this morning and he informed the police. The police have registered a murder case against unidentified persons and have started investigation. The SHO said that the body has been sent to the Civil Hospital mortuary.
Bodies of trader,kids fished out
A local industrialist and his two minor children,who had gone missing on January 11,were found dead this morning. Their bodies were fished out from a canal near the Rara Sahib Gurdwara. The bodies were trapped in a car which was spotted today as the canal water receded. The deceased are industrialist Bhupinder Singh (36),son Rishu (10) and daughter Harleen (8). The residents of Partap Colony in Model Gram,the trio had had gone to the gurdwara on January 11 but did not return.
