Yesterday,it was Mohali,and today,it’s Panchkula. In another first,Panchkula will be showcasing a five-day Summer Theatre Fest. Organized by the Theatre For Theatre group (TFT),the fest is going to be an annual feature from now onwards. “Our Organisation holds the Winter Fest in Chandigarh,so why not a Summer Fest for Panchkula? The Tricity has very less cultural programmes to feast on,” says Madan Gupta Spatu,the President of the group adding that soon they’ll start a Baisakhi Fest in Mohali too. As for the plays,the festival will open with ‘Chehray’ on May 29. ‘Aadhi Raat Ke Baad’,‘Gadhe Ki Barat’,‘Court Martial’ and ‘Ila’ will be staged on May 30,May 31st and June 1 respectively. The concluding day,June 2,will see the act ‘Ila’. While ‘Chehray’ is a satire the society and its biggies,‘Aadhi Raat Ke Baad’ portrays the failing legal system. How politicians twist the situation to their advantage is what ‘Gadhey Ki Barat’ will talk about. The all-time favourite,‘Court Martial’ will reveal yet again the evils of casteism prevailing in India,informs the eminent director of these plays,Sudesh Sharma adding that ‘Ila’ deals with the important aspects of human life featuring deterioration of marital bonds and materialism in relationships Book your taste at the Inderdhanush auditorium,Sector 5,Panchkula from May 29 to June 2,7.30 pm.
