Montek to address PAU convocation today

The annual convocation of the Punjab Agricultural University,scheduled on January 17,will be addressed by Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission Dr Montek Singh Ahluwalia.

PAU Registrar Dr Raj Kumar Mahey said Dr Gurdev Singh Khush,world-renowned rice breeder and recipient of the World Food Prize,Dr Bikram Gill,renowned wheat scientists from USA,Dr Jagtar Bhatti,Nobel Peace Prize laureate and Dr J S Samra,chief executive officer,National Rainfed Area Authority (NRAA) will be the guests of honour. They will also be felicitated on the occasion.

He added that nearly 357 degrees,including 74 PhDs,242 MSc degrees,27 MBA and 14 MBA (Agri-business) degrees will be awarded to the students.
