Karan Goel starred wit the ball as he claimed four wickets for 56 runs as hosts Ludhiana restricted Patiala to a first innings score of 262 in 85.5 overs in a league match of the Punjab Inter-District Cricket Tournament for Katoch Shield played on Friday.
Patiala innings was propped up by Ravi Inder Singh who was the highest run getter,playing a knock of 83 off 155 balls inclusive of 10 boundaries. The other main scorers for Patiala were Rupintender Singh who played a knock of 35 runs while Mohit Mahindra scored 33 runs. For hosts Ludhiana,Karan Goel was the pick of the bowlers claiming four wickets for 56 runs while Varun Verma claimed three wickets for 56 runs.

Jalandhar in a comfortable position
In another match,hosts Jalandhar posted a healthy total of 439 for 8 in 95 overs against Kapurthala. The stars of the day for Jalandhar were Taruwar Kohli and Love Kumar Singh who were associated in a 193-run stand for fifth wicket. Kohli played a superb knock of 122 runs. His knock consisted of 15 boundaries while he was ably assisted by Love Kumar Singh,who scored 114 runs. Abhishek Gupta also chipped in with unbeaten knock of 48 off 51 balls aided with 4 boundaries. For Kapurthala,Arjun was the pick of the Kapurthala bowlers scalping 3 for 88

Prashar sizzles for Chandigarh
Riding high on a scintillating double century by Amit Prashar (241),Chandigarh posted a mammoth total of 495 for 4 in 95 overs in their first innings against Mohali. Dominating the opposition right from the start,Prashar flayed the opposition bowlers all over the park. His knock consisted of 25 boundaries and nine towering sixes as he made 241 runs off 219 balls. Chandigarh started the innings with Sarul Kanwar and Vishwas Bhalla,who put up an opening stand of 83 runs before Vishwas Bhalla got out for 20 runs. Sarul Kanwar at this stage was joined by Amit Prashar and the duo went on to stitch a second-wicket partnership of 146 runs before Sarul departed with his personal score on 120. He smashed 12 boundaries and two sixes. Gurkirat Walia also played a knock of 50 runs while uday kaul contributed 30 runs. For Mohali,Sunny Sohal,Mayank Sidana and Harpreet Chatha claimed one wicket each.

Amritsar pile up 446 for 8
In another match played at Amritsar,hosts Amritsar posted a total of 446 for 8 in 95 overs against Bathinda. Sharad Lumba was the main scorer for the hosts as he played an unbeaten knock of 100 runs. His knock consisted of 13 boundaries and two towering sixes. Chandan Madan played a superb knock of 93 runs as he smashed 14 boundaries. Rahul Matto scored 86 runs while Vipin Chauhan made 48 runs. For Bathinda,Pawan Dadas was the main wicket-taker as he claimed three wickets for 146 runs.
