Non-teaching Employees Association hold dharna
On the call of Central Union,Non-Teaching Employees Association of Arya College (both boys and girls) held a dharna against the coalition government of the Akali-BJP for not implementing pay scales as per pay commission for the non-teaching staff on Friday. Ashwani Thakur,secretary of the association said,The state government has failed in safeguarding the interests of employees. He said on March 9 a state-level rally will be held at Nawanshahar.
Free kidney stone detection camp on March 7
The Dayanand Medical College and Hospital will be organising a free kidney stone detection and consultation camp on March 7 at the surgery OPD. Patients will be offered a 20 per cent concession on the procedure of breaking stones through the lithotripsy procedure.
Orientation programme held for parents
An orientation programme for parents of kindergarten children was organised at BCM School,Dugri,on Friday. The guest of honour was S K Mehta. Principal of the school Dr Vandna Shahi stressed on the notion that each child was special in his own way. She advised parents not to compare their kids with others to avoid fears and complexes in the childs mind.
New software in accounting
Gurwinder Singh,a city resident,has created an new software for accounting. “Small and big companies feed their business accounting data in different software like Tally,Busy etc. Each month,accountant reconciliation of the data with bank statement is done to find which cheque has been cleared. But this job is still done manually and consumes a lot of time. By using data “reconciliator software” this work will be done very simple and easy,” he said.
