Employees of BSNL protested outside their main office in Bharat Nagar chowk to protest against the recently submitted report to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. Balwinder Singh,one of the speaker in the rally,said,“As per the report,of the total 3 lakh employees,expulsion of over 1 lakh employees has been suggested and even 30 per cent disinvestment proposal has been floated. If the report is not taken back,we will start an indefinite strike.”

SHOs of 7 new police stations announced
Ludhiana Commissioner of Police Ishwar Singh has announced the station house officers for seven new police station which are to come up in the city. For the first time,a lady SHO will man the police station at Punjab Agricultural University. Sukhvinder Kaur has been chosen for the task.
Apart from this Anil Kumar will head the Daresi police station,Devinder Kumar has been posted at Dugri,Harpal Singh at the Daba road,Gopal Krishan at Moti Nagar and Kanwaljeet Singh at Jamalpur. The SHO for Meherbaan police station is yet to be decided while the Dehlon police station which earlier fell under the Ludhiana rural category will now fall under the jurisdiction of Commissioner Police in Ludhiana.

BJP gears up for March 20 rally at Pathankot
A meeting of BJP Yuva Morcha was held on Monday to oversee the arrangements of mega rally of BJP to be held in Madhopur in Pathankot on March 20. Workers from Jammu and Kashmir,Himachal and Punjab are likely to attend the rally,said Rajiv Katna,district president of the BJP.

National Defence College faculty visits PAU
To get knowledge about agriculture,economic and industrial development in Punjab,a delegation of National Defence College in New Delhi comprising 16 members headed by Dr Vishwas Mehta IAS,SDS (CS) visited the city on Monday. Lt Col (Retired) Harvinder Pal Singh,Deputy Director,Sainik Welfare,Ludhiana,welcomed the delegation.
