ICAR identifies new research projects

With the aim to identify researchable areas in post harvest sector,a National Committee Meeting on Post Harvest Technology and Value Addition was held under the chairmanship of Hon DDG (Engg) ICAR,at NASC,Complex,New Delhi,from June 10-11.

Major collaborative projects finalised included development and fabrication of tools/equipments related to exudate gums,development of formulations and gadgets for NRG based coatings for quality retention and shelf-life extension of fruits,vegetables,development of low calorie sweeteners from potato starch,development of extruded products from potato flour,with CIPHET,Ludhiana,shelf-life extension of vegetables under MAP and CA storage.
