BCM’s OBE study centre gets accredition for classes X,XII

To cater to the educational needs of the school dropouts and socially and economically backward sections of the population in and around Ludhiana,BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School here took an initiative a few years ago (as a social project) and opened a study centre of OBE (Open Basic Education) through NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) under the Ministry of HRD,Govt of India,New Delhi. These classes are run after the normal school gets over.

The school is first-ever accredited Centre of OBE in Punjab providing education at the middle level where a number of differently-abled children are also getting education along with other children. Recently,the school was accredited as a study centre for NIOS for secondary and senior secondary courses in Hindi and English medium for boys and girls from the academic session 2009-2010 and allotted Centre No is 160071.

Upgading the school centre would definitely help school drop-outs,poor children,adult neoliterates and also differently abled children to get further education and realize the importance of continuous learning. It has really brought a ray of hope for them.

Paramjit Kaur,the school principal,said,“Process of admission to classes X and XII will start from July 1 and conclude on July 31. The admission will be on first-come-first-serve basis subject to the availability of seats.”
