81 students shortlisted for interviews

In the entrance test for recruitment to the posts of agricultural officers held recently,as many as 81 PAU students have successfully cleared and qualified for the interview.

In the entrance test for recruitment to the posts of agricultural officers held recently,as many as 81 PAU students have successfully cleared and qualified for the interview.

The interviews by a panel of experts from different leading banks of the country was held on March 16-17 on PAU campus. The in-charge of the placement cell,Dr S.K Singla,informed,“Students from PAU are preferred for they have complete knowledge about the state where agriculture is the main means of economy. Usually,the graduates in agriculture are preferred for field jobs in banks adding that this time,students from College of Agricultural Engineering had also qualified the test and appeared in the interview.”

Dr Singla said the placement cell had made endeavours to contact leading companies,organisations including banks for campus interviews,He said in the past,several multi-national companies had picked PAU agri-engineering and other graduates for lucrative jobs. The director of Students Welfare,Dr D.S. Brar said that in the on-going recession,finding placement was of great concern.
