A few days after protesting against the party,three rebels today rejoined SAD and withdrew their names as independents. These include Jatinder Pal Saluja from Ludhiana West,Ravinder Pal Khalsa from Ludhiana Central and Principal Ishwar Singh from Ludhiana East.
The majority of the SAD wing was not even supporting BJP candidates Rajinder Bhandari from Ludhiana West,Parveen Bansal from Ludhiana North and Satpal Gosain from Ludhiana Central and today SAD workers also announced full support to BJP. The three candidates stated that party has assured them ‘proper respect once they come back to power and hence they returned. The trio also stated that they do not want Congress to gain an edge over the SAD-BJP candidates after they contest as independents. Saluja said,We realised that had we contested independent,the SAD-BJP vote would be divided and Congress would have been benefited. So we decided to make a comeback to assure victory of the alliance.
SGPC President Avtar Singh Makkar was the mediator. Makkar also said,The SAD ignored them for quite some time and they were upset about it,but on January 5 ,SAD President Sukhbir Badal himself came late in the evening and assured them proper respect. With these candidates,hundreds of other workers have also assured full help to all SAD-BJP candidates. SAD workers had alleged that they do not get proper respect from BJP MLAs and that they do not help them out in their day to day works.
BJP district President Rajiv Katna,Former SAD MLA Harish Rai Dhanda,Hira Singh Gabria and many others were present in this meeting. Sources revealed that SAD leaders are also trying their best to sort out differences with Bains brothers.
