A 21-day training programme on Plant Architectural Engineering and Management of Sub-tropical Fruit Crops will be organised by the PAU Department of Horticulture in the university premises. The programme would commence on October 12 and culminate on November 1. Giving contours,P S Aulakh,Head,Department of Horticulture,said that for the first time the training programme is being organised which will see the participation of the scientists from various parts of the country including Tamil Nadu,Rajasthan,Orissa,Gujarat,Maharashtra,Himachal Pradesh,Jammu and Kashmir,Chattisgarh,Karnataka,Uttar Pradesh and Punjab. PAU experts and eminent scientists from state agricultural universities (SAUs) would hone the skills of the trainees by equipping them with the concept of modifying tree architecture,harvesting of maximum sunlight,and agro-horti techniques to boost the output of fruit trees,said Aulakh.
