“Preliminary look at the death cases suggest a majority of fatalities took place either due to co-morbidity or patients already undergoing treatment at hospitals were detected with Covid-19 infection,” said a senior government officer.

The officer said that the cases started rising last week, following which the NCR districts and big cities like Lucknow Varanasi, and Prayagraj, among others, were put on alert.
