UP players honoured

The state government on Friday distributed a prize money of Rs 1.24 crore among 399 UP players who brought laurels to the state in different sports at the national level in the junior,senior and sub-junior sections.

The state government on Friday distributed a prize money of Rs 1.24 crore among 399 UP players who brought laurels to the state in different sports at the national level in the junior,senior and sub-junior sections. The felicitation function was held at 5.00 pm on Friday at KD Singh ‘Babu’ Stadium,Lucknow.

In the team event category,each player of a team which claimed a gold at the national level become richer by Rs 40,000,the silver medal winners were given Rs 30,000 while the bronze medal winners were given Rs 20,000 in the senior section. In the junior section,players of team events were given given Rs 30,000 for a gold,Rs 25,000 for a silver and Rs 15,000 for a bronze. Similarly,in the sub-junior section,Rs 15,000 was given for a gold,Rs 10,000 for a silver and Rs 5,000 for a bronze.

In the individual category events,Rs 1 lakh was given to those who won a gold,Rs 75,000 to those who won a silver and Rs 50,000 to those who bagged a bronze in the senior section. In the junior section,the gold medal winners got Rs 50,000,the silver medallists Rs 35,000 and the bronze medallists Rs 25,000. In the sub-junior section,the gold medal winners got Rs 25,000,the silver medallists became richer by Rs 15,000 while the bronze medallists were awarded Rs 10,000 as prize money.
