The Uttar Pradesh government will appeal against BJP MP Varun Gandhis acquittal in two cases of hate speeches and one of vandalism in higher courts,said UP STF IG Ashish Gupta this evening.
In the last four months,the courts of Chief Judicial Magistrate and Sessions Court in Pilibhit district acquitted Gandhi in the three cases lodged against him in Pilibhit district in 2009.
The CJM court acquitted Gandhi in two cases on February 27 and March 5 lodged at City Kotwali and Barkhera police stations,respectively,
The sessions court acquitted him in another case on May 3,also lodged at the City Kotwali police station.
The IG added that the government will appeal in sessions court against the verdicts of CJM court while the appeal in the verdict of the sessions court will be filed in the high court.
