Uma protests FDI in retail,threatens to set fire to Walmart stores

Senior BJP leader Uma Bharti on Friday threatened to set on fire Walmart stores wherever these are opened in the country and appealed to senior party leader LK Advani and anti-graft activist Anna Hazare to come on the streets against the government decision to throw open multi-brand retail to foreign chains.

Condemning the decision of the UPA cabinet,Bharti said,“By this decision,the UPA government is going to make lakhs of OBCs and Dalits unemployed who earn livelihood by their retail businesses.”

Bharti further said she had written letters to Advani,Anna,yoga guru Baba Ramdev,spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravishankar and social activist KN Govindacharya,seeking their support in the fight against the entry of Walmart. She said she was ready to go jail for setting on fire Walmart stores and that has informed party national president Nitin Gadkari about her protest.

She appealed to Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi to intervene for roll back of the Cabinet decision.
