Top cops warn ‘negligent’ officers

Perturbed at the increasing incidents of crime,DGP A C Sharma and Additional DG (Law and Order) Arun Kumar held a review meeting with Lucknow police officials on Saturday and suspended one circle officer (CO) and ordered preliminary inquiries against an Additional SP and a CO for their “lacklustre attitude” towards crime prevention and investigation.

Talking to newsmen after the meeting,Sharma said several police officials posted in Lucknow were not showing adequate interest in controlling crime and working out the incidents that have taken place. He said he has suspended Sanjay Kumar,CO (Cantonment),who was not working on investigation of cases and routine inspections in his area.

He said it was his first review meeting of Lucknow and he will now keep a watch on “negligent” police officials.
