Ekta Kapoors new fixation releasing films a day before Friday

Just when we thought Ekta Kapoor has gotten over her K-fixation,she seems have developed a new one. Kapoor,who is working on several movie projects,has decided to release them not on the customary Friday,but on Thursday. In fact,the enterprising producer is releasing three films in a span of one-and-a-half months. And all are slated for a Thursday release. It isnt my plan. Its Gods plan for me, laughs Kapoor,famous for her superstitious ways.

The films ready for release include Taryanache Bait,a Marathi film that releases on April 14. Sendhil Ramamurthy-starrer Shorr – In the City releases two weeks later on April 28. Both the Hindi and Telugu versions of Ragini MMS hits theatres on May 12. While Shorr is an edgy,serious-comic,new-age entertainer featuring an ensemble cast,Ragini MMS is a a sensual paranormal thriller,shot as if in real time. Taryanache Bait is a family drama about small town aspirants with big town dreams.

My film team has actually planned the releases. They want to have a worldwide release on the same day. But due to certain holidays and other complications,we may not have got the Friday dates. So its all coincidental and its Gods plan for us, she explains.

Well,Gods plan or not,Kapoor sure has a way of planning the success of her endeavours. Lets hope the new superstition will work wonders for her in the film industry,just like it did in television.
