Ekta Kapoor

Ekta Kapoor is one of the prominent faces of the Indian television industry. Jointly managing her production house, Balaji Telefilms since 1994 with sister Shobha Kapoor, she is a leading TV and film producer. She is known to start an era of the golden period of Indian television with the evergreen daily soaps like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Kaahin Kissii Roz among many others. Some of her recent productions include Ye Hai Mohabbatein, Kumkum Bhagya, and Kavach. Having produced more than 100 serials, Ekta Kapoor's shows have been widely popular and have been known to have the highest TRPs on television. Her first venture in Bollywood was Kyo Kii... Main Jhuth Nahin Bolta in 2001. Other movies like Kyaa Kool Hai Hum, Shootout at Lokhandwala and Mission Istanbul were welcomed by the audience too and became big hits. Moreover, the 41-year-old producer has also launched her fashion series with Ek Label.
