With Katrina Kaif as the new Dhoom girl,Bollywood awaits her first ever pairing with Aamir Khan

It’s official. Katrina Kaif has been signed on to play the leading lady in Dhoom:3 opposite Aamir Khan. Though the industry had already been abuzz about the same for a while now,Yash Raj Productions has finally confirmed her casting. However,according to the production house,the actress has been selected after a long search for the “right face”. “After almost a year of searching for a new face,we were still unable to find the perfect débutante to play the lead role. We even reached out to international talent but were still unable to find someone who stood out,” said the director Vijay Krishna Acharya,better known as Victor. Once they decided to go with a known face,Katrina was the obvious choice since “she brings tremendous enthusiasm and commitment”. The fresh pairing of Aamir with Katrina will also add value.

The team will begin shooting at the end of this year and the film is slated for a 2012 Christmas release.
