slams chief minister for framing party legislator
The Samajwadi Party (SP) on Saturday criticised the ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) for implicating its legislator in the attack on the UP cabinet minister and demanded a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the case.
The attack on Cabinet Minister Nand Gopal Gupta is the result of the internal rivalry in the BSP over sharing money and property held by the party through illegal means, said the leader of Opposition in the Assembly,Shivpal Singh Yadav while addressing a press conference on Saturday.
He said Chief Minister Mayawatis allegation of SPs involvement in the case is a desperate attempt by her to scuttle the probe and cover up her party leaders fight for the loot.
He further said that over three dozen SP leaders were killed in the last three years of the BSP rule in the state.
Earlier Mayawati was known for using intemperate and unparliamentary language against her opponents and now she has mastered the art of speaking lies. The CMs attempt to blame the SP for the incident and frame our MLA Vijay Mishra betrays her desperation, said Yadav.
Raising doubts over the fairness of the investigation by the UP police in the incident,Yadav said,If Mayawati has moral courage, she should recommend to the Center a probe by the Central investigating agency as free and fair probe into the incident is not possible under the present BSP regime.
The SP leader questioned the promptness of the UP police in cracking the case in four days. At the CMs behest, the police has completed the inquires hurriedly and declared SP leaders as culprits, he said adding that the police has not yet said anything on the reasons behind the attack.
Mishra is being framed in several fake cases as he had earlier refused to join the BSP, said Yadav.
