In a fitting climax to the Second Satwant Kaur Memorial Snookerman Tournament which concluded on Thursday evening at the Satnam Coaching Centre,Lucknow,it was a decider black ball game in the fifth and final frame of the best of five frames snooker classic which fetched the title for Santosh Sherwani at the end of a two and half hours battle. Malkeet Singh,the promising cueist lost the match but stole the hearts even as Sherwani rolled the decisive black ball into the top pocket for the crown winning by 57-49,67-00,05-56,10-48 and 53-47 points.

Golf tourney

Lucknow Golf Club in association with Rohtas Projects Ltd. will be organising a golf tournament on February 26 and 27. Addressing mediapersons,captain of the Lucknow Golf Club Dr Sudhir Kapoor informed that around 170 golfers from the city are expected to participate in the tournament. The tournament is only for amateurs. The tournament will be organised in veteran,junior,ladies and open categories.

The tournament will be inaugurated at 6.30 am on Saturday with the tee off by the senior most playing member of the Lucknow Golf Club TN Mishra.

CAL observer

In the executive committee meet of the Cricket Association Lucknow (CAL) which was presided over by CAL president Dr Navneet Sehgal,it was decided that in order to evaluate the conduct of umpires,scorers and teams,a CAL observer will be appointed for the matches which will be organised by CAL. According to Gopal Singh,joint secretary CAL,former Ranji Trophy player Jasbeer Singh has been entrusted the task of appointing the observer.
