Opposition slams Mayawati govt

Reacting over the Lakhimpur Kheri violence,the Samajwadi Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday accused the BSP government of losing control over law and order in the state. Samajwadi Party spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary said the situation was tense in the area for last one week and yet the government ignored it. The party has requested the Governor to dismiss the government. It has also demanded an ex-gratia relief of Rs 20 lakh for the kins of the deceased. Meanwhile,BJP state president Surya Pratap Shahi has constituted a four-member team to inquire into the incident.
