Notification for Manth bypoll

LUCKNOW: The Chief Electoral Office of UP Friday issued the notification for by-election to the Manth Assembly constituency in Mathura district. According to the schedule,the last date of filling nomination papers is May 25 and scrutiny of nominations will be held on May 26 while withdrawals will be allowed till May 28. Polling will be on June 12 and the counting of votes will be held on June 15. Election shall be completed before June 18.

The seat fell vacant after RLD leader Jayant Chaudhary resigned from the membership of UP Legislative Assembly order to retain his Mathura LS seat.

CM to Centre: Set up AIIMS-like hospitals

LUCKNOW: CM Akhilesh Yadav has written a letter to Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad urging him to set up specialised hospitals on the lines of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in UP’s Purvanchal,Bundelkhand and Rohilkhand regions. According to him the state’s three parts do not have any specialised hospital and people in these areas come to Lucknow’s SGPGI hospital for treatment of serious illness.
