Scheduled to be released on September 4,the film unravels into a bizarre tale trying to establish who real Mohandas is.

“It’s a surreal story of a battered young man who finds that someone else is living as Mohandas.

“Heavy doses of irony and satire make the film interesting and traces the absurd levels to which democratic institutions can be manipulated today,” says Mazhar who has dedicated the film to honest Indians like Manjunath and Safdar Hashmi.

“Like our protagonist,they did everything to fight corruption,” adds Mazhar credited with films like Satya,Jhankar Beats and Masti.

Apart from being dedicated to Manjunath,the film also has few other Lucknow connections.

“Local artistes like Ram Chandra Saini,OP Awasthi,Dr Anupam Srivastava and Suken Mishra have played an important roles in the film,” says Mazhar introducing the local stars.

Critically acclaimed the film has been officially selected at many prestigious film festivals across the world including 52nd San Francisco International Film Festival USA,the 23rd Fribourg International Film Festival,Switzerland and the 18th Innsbruck International Film Festival,Austria.

“Critics have given a thumbs up. As for the viewers,we are keeping our fingers crossed,” chips in Nakul who plays the real Mohandas.

Other cast include talented actors like Sonali Kulkarni,Sushant Singh,Sharbani Mukherjee,Sameer Dharmadhikari,Uttam Haldar,Aditya Shrivastav,Akhilendra Mishra and Govind Namdeo.

Named on Mahatma Gandhi’s first name Mohandas,the film has nothing to do directly with the father of the nation. “Only similarity is that while male lead is Mohandas,his wife is called Kasturi,” says Sharbani who plays Mohandas’ wife.
