Missing Independent found by the roadside

Locals found Dhirendra Singh, who is contesting the Assembly bypolls from Kaushambi’s Sirathu segment as an Independent

An Independent candidate in the coming bypolls who had gone missing on Friday was found lying with his hands tied in Baghrai police station area of Pratapgarh district Sunday evening

Locals found Dhirendra Singh, who is contesting the Assembly bypolls from Kaushambi’s Sirathu segment as an Independent, on the side of the road with his hands tied, Pratapgarh SP Anant Deo said.

The SP added that Singh did not have serious injuries but was suffering from dehydration and administered first aid services before being handed over to the Kaushambi police.

Kaushambi SP Ratan Kant Pandey said Singh’s medical examination has been carried out. He, however, said that Singh is still to give any information on how he went missing. The police, too, haven’t record Singh’s statement yet.
