Minority communities should think of ways to help and support each other,External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid said here today.

“Muslims should not think they are the only ones lagging behind,” he said during a conference on “Unpacking the 12th Plan (Minorities chapter)” here, organised by Strive for Eminence and Empowerment.

“Whenever there is a discussion on minorities, quoting Sachar Committee report everyone accepts that Muslims in India are most backward, and hence there is dire need to help them,” he said. “But there are some things which will strengthen the hands of Muslims,(which is) if we connect them with all other minorities. Either the Muslims can extend themselves to other minorities or just restrict themselves to their own problems.”
