The SP legislator from Gyanpur in Bhadohi,Vijay Mishra, has alleged that the Mayawati government wanted to eliminate him and the attack on him during a public meeting in Phoolpur on Saturday was a part of the conspiracy.
He accused Higher Education Minister Rakesh Dhar Tripathi,Higher Secondary Minister Rang Nath Mishra, jailed don Udai Bhan Singh and the police of masterminding the attack,in which his official gunner had sustained bullet injuries.
Inspector General of Police SK Shukla had said yesterday that the bullets were misfired from the weapon of the gunner himself. Mishra, however, alleged that the police were trying to fabricate evidence. Ten spent cartridges were found from the spot.
Shukla,Deputy Inspector General of Police BP Tripathi wanted to replace the carbine of the gunner to implicate me but my supporters stopped them, said Mishra.
The IG denied the charge and said the three gunners of Mishra were provided with 192 bullets, but at the time of the incident they had only 52. Asked about the rest,Mishra produced 140 bullets from his residence.
