Man cooks up daughter’s suicide story

“Ashamed” over the elopement of his daughter,a man in Moradabad got himself arrested and went to jail by lodging a false report with the police that his daughter had committed suicide and that he had disposed of the body. However,the girl has been found alive,staying with her boyfriend in the same city.

Moradabad SSP SK Bhagat said the girl had eloped with a youth,Jitendra,on December 31,and her father Rampal,a resident of Thakurdwara,lodged an FIR with the police on January 2.

On January 4,Rampal informed the police that his daughter had returned home,consumed poison and died,and he had cremated the body.
