LU students clash,four arrested

Four students pursuing BBA and BMS courses of the Lucknow University were arrested by police following a clash between two groups on the new campus of the university.

Four students pursuing BBA and BMS courses of the Lucknow University were arrested by police following a clash between two groups on the new campus of the university.

According to university administration,around 4 in the evening,there was a clash between two groups of students. Two students — Utkarsh and Pradip — were hurt in the clash even as their motorbikes were damaged.

Following the clash,the Additional Proctor,LU CP Singh called the police and arrested four students — Rohit,Ashthabhuja,Ikram and Jamal — under Section 151 (Arrest to prevent the commission of cognizable offence) of CrPC,” said Jai Karan Singh,Station Officer,Madiaun Police Station.

The reason of the clash is not clear but it was reportedly over seniority. An inquiry will be set up by the Chief Proctor on Monday. Meanwhile,five students have been suspended and showcause notice has been served to them. Action will be taken against those who are found guilty in the inquiry,” said CP Singh.
