LJP women wing chief shot at by neighbour,critical

State president of the women wing of the Lok Janshakti Party,Rubina Masooq,32,was shot at from point blank range near her Katra Bakhtiyari residence on Tuesday evening.

State president of the women wing of the Lok Janshakti Party,Rubina Masooq,32,was shot at from point blank range near her Katra Bakhtiyari residence on Tuesday evening. The assailant has been identified as Ali Hasnain alias Pappu,her neighbour.

The incident took place around 8.30 pm when Rubina reportedly slapped Hasnains daughter,Qainat. This led to a brawl between the LJP leader and Qainats mother. In a fit of rage,Hasnain allegedly dragged Rubina out of her house and pumped two bullets in her head.

Rubina was taken to the Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital where doctors referred her to a private hospital.

Her condition is very critical and she may succumb to her injuries anytime, said doctor A K Bansal,who is attending to the LJP leader.

Deputy Inspector General of Police Chandra Prakash reached the spot and ordered the arrest of Hasnain within 24 hours.

It is clear that Hasnain and three others had tried to kill her. They threw bombs and shot her in the head. The culprit is absconding but we will net him soon, said the DIG.

The two families reportedly share a property dispute.
