Three railway gangmen were run over by Kanpur-Jammu Express while they were working on the tracks near Agwanpur in Moradabad district on Wednesday. While three of them died on the spot,another was seriously injured and admitted to the Railway hospital.

Jailbird held in Aligarh
The Uttar Pradesh STF on Wednesday arrested Awadhesh Pandit,one of the four undertrials who escaped from Mathura District Jail on June 20. The police had announced a reward of Rs 50,000 for the arrest of each of them. Pandit was arrested from Dhatoli village in Aligarh district where he was staying at his friend’s house. The STF team,however,had to face attack by the locals during the arrest. A case has been registered against Pandit’s friend,Pappu,and some unidentified villagers.

Minor dies in celebratory firing
Mathura: An eight-year-old girl was killed and four others sustained injuries during a celebratory firing at a wedding in Ranvari village on Wednesday. While the girl died on the spot,the condition of the four injured is stated to be serious.

Woman found dead
A 23-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence in Lucknow’s Naka Hindola area on Wednesday. No suicide note has been recovered. Jyoti Kashyap,who used to work as a domestic help,was reportedly in love with her married neighbour,said police.
