SBI sets up machines at medical institute

The State Bank of India has set up five “point of sales” machines at the Sanjay Gandhi Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences,which will help patients pay for various services at the hospital by using their debit or credit cards. Institute Director R K Sharma and Abhay Kumar Singh,Chief General Manager of SBI’s Lucknow circle,inaugurated the machines which have been provided free of cost.

UP to demand relief from Centre

The state government plans to demand compensation from the Centre for revenue losses that it suffered in the wake of Central Sales Tax (CST) being phased out in the VAT regime. “Chief Secretary Anoop Mishra asked the commercial tax department officials,in a meeting on Monday,to do proper home work to put the demand before the Centre,” an official said here.
