Muzaffarnagar: A woman,Kavita,was burnt to death on Thursday allegedly by her in-laws for dowry at Toda village,police said on Friday. The father has alleged in his complaint that Kavita was set ablaze by her husband Rajbir,father-in-law Mahendra,mother-in-law Bhagwati and maternal uncle Surender. A case has been registered and police have arrested Rajbir and Bhagwati.

Mother-daughter duo shot dead

Lucknow: A woman and her daughter were killed by two unidentified man in Mainpuri district on Thursday night. The incident took place at Devinagar village in Kurawali area. Two unidentified persons shot dead 55-year-old Sonkali and her 18-year-old daughter Nisha in their house,police said. The motive behind the killing is yet to be ascertained,said police,adding that a manhunt has been launched to nab the culprits.
