In Etah,Muslim voters refused to cast their votes in 13 of the 14 booths in Bhargain town in protest against neglect by government agencies. From Etah,former chief minister Kalyan Singh was in the fray as an Independent candidate,supported by the SP. The electorate in some booths in Farrukhabad and Etawah boycotted polls to protest against the lack of basic amenities like power,water and roads.
