The US-based parent company may have declared itself bankrupt, the Indian arm of General Motors continues to add a ‘spark’ to its line-up of cars. Assuring that Indian operations were not hit at all,P Balendran,Vice President Corporate Affairs,General Motors India, announced in Lucknow on Wednesday, the launch of LPG version of Chevrolet Spark.

“The Spark model of our fleet claims quite a pie of the small cars segment in India,” beamed Balendran.

At Rs 3.65 lakh, the car’s LPG version promises 350 km per refill of 26 kg gas. The consideration that the sole LPG refilling station in the city is on the far-off Sitapur road is taken care of by a 40-litre petrol tank to stand by. “The sequential injection-type kit assures that pick-up while using gas and petrol is the same and the engine doesn’t sustain damage,” says Balendran.
