Two persons were arrested on Wednesday in connection with the murder of former MLA Kapildev Yadav and his driver,who were shot dead in Maus Majwara area on Sunday.
The accused,Ankur Rai and Ravi Shankar Singh,appeared at the office of the State Human Rights Commission and confessed to their involvement in the crime. They were later handed over to the police.
During questioning,the accused told the police that they killed Yadav to avenge the murder of Ram Daras Rai Ankurs father who was killed in February 2001.
The former MLA was one of the three persons chargesheeted in the case,which is still pending in court.
Four others were also involved in the murder of Yadav and his driver,the accused have told police.
Ankur was helped by his five friends all residents of Mau. A hunt has been launched to locate them, said ADG (Law and Order) Brij Lal.
Yadav and his driver Dev Nath Yadav were shot dead when the former MLA went to meet his friend Dr Shriram Yadav in Majwara area.
