Divya’s mother gets gunner for security

Meanwhile,the investigation into Divya’s death has been shifted from Kalyanpur police circle to Cantonment police circle. A three-member team headed by Circle Officer,Cantonment,Amarjeet Singh Sahi,will probe into the case which was being investigated earlier under the leadership of Kalyanpur CO Laxmi Niwas Mishra. The ASP Crime,AK Pandey,has been assigned the task to monitor the investigation. Bhadoria has welcomed the move and termed it a positive step by the district police.

Kanpur DIG Prem Prakash told The Indian Express: “Ashwini had asked Bhadoria to visit the Bharti Gyan Sthali school along with him.”

Prakash said the investigation suggest that Ashwini is a not in a stable mental condition and has no connection with the case. “We have provided a gunner to Bhadoria for her security and have shifted the investigation to another police circle,” he said.

A resident of Jehanabad village,Ashwini is a B Sc student of a private college of Naubasta area of Kanpur. Ashwini stays in a rented room near the college,said police.

Bhadoria said that Ashwini had come to her house first on Wednesday and introduced himself as a special investigation officer in the case. “He asked me to visit the school of my daughter for investigation,but I refused. He came again on Thursday and tried to convince me to visit the school.”

According to Bhadoria,the locals caught hold of Ashwini and handed him over to police. She denied to have any acquaintance with Ashwini.

Divya,a class VI student of Bharti Gyan Sthali school,died soon after she was dropped outside her residence by the school staff on September 27. Postmortem report confirmed a sexual assault on the girl and cited heavy bleeding and shock as main causes of her death. On a complaint made by her mother,Kalyanpur police had registered a case of sexual assault and murder against the school staff. On September 27,school owner Chandra Pal Verma and his son Sudhir were arrested. On October 6,Kalyanpur police arrested Bhadoria’s neighbour Munna Lal Lodhi and termed him as the main culprit in the case. Piyush,the second son of Chandra Pal,was arrested on October 15.

“I am satisfied with Piyush’s arrest and the move to shift police investigation to another circle,” said Bhadoria. The Kanpur DIG said,“If required,the DNA test of the four arrested persons will also be carried out.”
