Cong zonal review meet today

The meeting,called after Rahul Gandhi asked leaders to become more visible in the state.

To Address thinning support in Rahul rallies,AICC general secretary in-charge of the state Madhusudan Mistry will hold a review meeting to set the agenda and tasks for all eight zones in the state in Lucknow Monday.

The meeting,called after Rahul Gandhi asked leaders to become more visible in the state,will review party activities,set deadlines for district or Lok Sabha constituency wise rallies in the state in next two months.

Sources said the party high-command has asked the state unit,MPs and Union Ministers to first organise their rallies and then plan one for Rahul or Sonia.

The decision was taken after some of Rahul Gandhi’s rallies failed to draw a “respectable” crowd in the state last month.

Congress has also asked its leaders to undertake “Padyatra” in every districts to gather support for November 21 protest,called by state party unit against government’s non-implementation of Centre’s food security scheme.
