Rajnarayan Budhauliya, the outgoing MP from the Hamirpur seat, was expelled on Thursday from the primary membership of the BSP for his alleged involvement in anti-party activities during the elections.

Daddu Prasad, the Gram Vikash Minister in the state government, confirmed the party’s decision. Budhauliya had deserted the SP and joined the BSP in April this year. He,however, did not contest this year.

The BSP functionaries, meanwhile, continued to examine the factors that led to the party’s poor performance in the elections.

“The chief minister has asked the heads of the party’s state units to hold meetings and ensure action against those who were involved in anti-party activities during elections,” a source in the BSP said.
