Village tense after boy shot at for teasing girl

MUZAFFARNAGAR: Tension prevailed in Chamrawala village in the district where violence erupted on August 12 after a Dalit youth was shot at for allegedly teasing a girl from another community. Additional force has been deployed to avoid any further incident of violence,Rajkamal,SP (city) said. Agitated Dalits had pelted stones on a school bus and policemen,injuring two. Police said four people have been arrested for firing at the boy.

8-year-old girl hacked in Shahjahanpur

LUCKNOW: An eight-year-old girl was hacked by a man at Sadar Bazar police station area of Shahjahanpur district Friday. Police said Faraiz,a class III student at Sahara School,was attacked by Firoz,a resident of Nirjai area,with an axe near her house when she was on her way to school. Police said Firoz was angry at the girl’s father,Iqram,who had denied to rent his house to him. Sadar Bazar station officer Subedar Singh said Firoz who appears to be mentally disturbed is yet to be held.
