Prohibitory orders imposed in Shamli

The police imposed prohibitory orders in Shamli following protest by BJP in which vehicles and shops were allegedly damaged by the protesters. The BJP activists,led by BJP MLA Hukum Singh,on Monday held protest demanding arrest of gangrape accused,who allegedly abducted and raped a 21-year-old girl Sunday.

Absconding cop wants to surrender

A police Inspector,accused for murdering a Class VIII student,on Tuesday moved an application in a court here pleading he wanted to surrender. On May 29,some persons shot dead Maaz Mohammad in his house in Indiranagar colony. Two persons who were later arrested accused Inspector Sanjay Rai of giving them the contract to kill the student. The court has fixed June 20 as the next date of hearing in the case.
